Richard Gaylin Brett, age 39 of Pittsburg, PA., while residing at his sisters home in Pulaski, TN, went to be with our Lord on Friday, August 10, 2012 surrounded by his family and friends. A graveside service will be held at the Bedford Memorial Park in Bedford, PA Saturday September 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM (EST), where he will be laid to rest beside his mother and father. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and is in charge of arrangements. Richard was born April 28, 1973 in Johnstown, PA. He was the surviving twin boy of parents Richard W. and Wynetta L. Brett was the youngest son of nine siblings. He attended Chestnut Ridge High School and went on to be a NCCCO certified crane operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers, #66 of Pittsburg. As a child he was a rebel who enjoyed camping. Richard's family described him as a handsome man who laughed a lot. He loved his job and his family, especially his children. He enjoyed the outdoors including picnics and riding his Harley. Richard was particularly fond of "big toys." Richard altogether loved his life to the fullest. He is survived by his children: Mason S. Brett of PA, Tabatha Brett of unknown, Gary Vanderppool of PA and Shady Vanderppool of PA. Siblings include: Kathleen L. Vannatter of Pulaski, TN, William F. Nugent of Hickory, NC, Evan T. Nugent of York, PA, Terry P. Nugent, Patrick S. Brett, Shannon K. Waybright all of PA, and Michael D, Nugent of Rome, GA, and Tracy L. Brett of Pulaski, TN. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brett was preceded in death by his twin sister Robin G. Brett; step- father Joseph "Leo" Chridon; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
