Donnie Carl Harris

August 1, 1950 - April 22, 2011

Mr. Donnie Carl Harris, age 60, husband of Cordelia Rogers Harris, retired worker from Union Carbide, and a resident of Mt. Pleasant, TN; passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011 of Congestive Heart Failure. Funeral Services for Mr. Harris will be held 12:00 Noon Monday, April 25, 2011, in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, Brother Dale Myers officiating, with interment to follow in Watts Hill Cemetery with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of service on Monday at Heritage Funeral Home. A native of Maury County, he was the son of the late Carl Wade Harris and Shirley Young Harris of Weeki-Wachee, FL formerly of Columbia. He was a member of the Baptist Church and attended Word of Life Fellowship in Pulaski, TN. He was a member of the 1969 graduating class of Central High School. He faithfully served our country in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne B Company 506. In addition to his wife; Mr. Harris left behind to cherish his memory his children: Michelle Sullivan and Shannon Gray both of Columbia, TN; step-children: Leo Cole, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, Hillary (Chris) Scott of Christiana, TN, and Heather Hooper of Centerville, TN; a sister Debra (Larry) Weissman of Spring Hill, FL; a brother Phil (Diane) Harris of Columbia, TN; a mother-in-law Dot Thomason of Mt. Pleasant, TN; a brother-in-law Stanley Rogers of Mt. Pleasant, TN. Mr. Harris leaves behind five grandchildren and five step-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
