Katie Mae McNeese Vincent, age 80, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on Monday morning, January 7, 2013 at NHC- Columbia. A funeral service for Ms. Vincent will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from noon until the funeral hour on Wednesday. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. A native of Pulaski, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Carter McNeese and the late Irene Thomas McNeese. She was of the Baptist faith. In her earlier years she worked as a supervisor at Weathertamer in Columbia. She thoroughly enjoyed life and never met a stranger. She loved to talk and as her family stated, "She was a social butterfly". She enjoyed playing bingo, reading the newspaper and working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed square dancing and could definitely, "cut a rug". Although she enjoyed all of these activities, nothing could compare to her love and devotion she had for her family. As her daughter stated, she loved all of her family and especially spoiled her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they were her life. This loving and caring lady will truly be missed by all of her loving family and friends. Ms Katie left behind to cherish her memory one son, Wayne (Carolyn) Vincent of Savannah, TN; three daughters: Brenda Austin of Unionville, TN, Debbie (Boottie) Whitwell of Ethridge, TN and Lotte Gower of Mt. Pleasant, TN; one sister, Ann McNeese McRee of Minor Hill, TN, seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Vincent. Pallbearers will include: Wayne Vincent, John Wayne Vincent, Jon Eavey, Austin Cagle, Tatan Cagle, Jeramey Hedrick, William "Boottie" Whitwell and Camron Hagler. The family would like to express a heartfelt "Thank You" to the entire staff of NHC Columbia for their loving care and friendship displayed to Ms Katie.
