Margie Jean Ritter, age 77, and a resident of Nashville, TN and formerly of Kansas, died on Monday, May 14, 2012.

Margie was born on October 3, 1934 in Hiawatha, KS to Raymond Luther and Myrtle Grace Stover (Foltz). She graduated from Robinson High School in Kansas in 1952, then attended Kansas State University.

Margie married Don W. Ritter of Pawhattan, KS on October 3, 1954. She befriended many people throughout her life and career and will be remembered for her generosity and sweet soul. She retired to Nashville to enjoy the country music she always loved, and to be close to her good friend, Brenda Lee.

She always enjoyed the outdoors and could identify any tree by its' leaves, and every bird by its' call. She was an artist who loved the ocean and painting the seascapes she saw.

From one of her beautiful poems, "When fashioned for that someone special, my gift is love and time. And because of all, the love you've shared, to you oh friends of mine."

Margie is survived by her beloved children: Murray Lane Ritter of Charleston, SC, Sheryl Linet Ritter of Palmdale, CA, and Jody Jenet Ritter of Rye Brook, NY; grandchildren: Sara, Charlet and Eric Ritter. She was preceded in death by a son: Randy Wayne; and siblings:Robert, Dean, Don and James Stover.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the WoodbineUnited Methodist Church, 2621 Nolensville Rd, Nashville, TN 37211.

Margie's remains will be laid to rest along side her son and parents in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha, KS.
