Mr. Robby (Bob) Lee Adkins Sr., age 83, husband of Mary Adkins, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away Friday morning, June 15, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be Sunday June 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Blythe and Pastor Bob Adair officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the United States Air Force. The family will visit with friends on Saturday June 16, 2012 from 4-8 PM in the Hunter Room of Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. A native of Maury County, Robby proudly served 3 years in the United States Air Force. He was an electrician and retired with 31 years of service in the maintenance department of Union Carbide. He was a 50 year Mason and Shriner, as well as a former City Council Member serving the 5th Ward of Columbia. Mr. Adkins was a member of the Highland Avenue Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: Connie (Jerry) McNabb of Lake Wells, Florida, Robby (Debbie) Adkins Jr. of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and LuAnn (Eugene) Bryson of Columbia, Tennessee; sister: Mary Evelyn Pickle of Columbia, Tennessee; niece and nephews: Dwight (Tomi) Frodgue of Corrales, New Mexico, Shirley Stenberg of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Gary (Carol) Pickle of Hendersonville, Tennessee; five grandchildren: Kristie Johnson, Jeremy Bryson, Suzanne Scott, Kaylea Adkins, Megan Adkins; and seven great-grand children: Haley, Kristen, Caleb, Brayden, Khloe, Prestyn, and Lilly. Pallbearers will be Bud Richardson, William Lynch, Jerry Hazlett, Wayne Hazlett, Jeremy Bryson, and Tony Moore. You may send condolences to the family at the top of this page.
