Mrs. Virginia Mae Porter White, 90, a resident of Brannon Court and formerly of Woodland Street, died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services for Mrs. White will be conducted on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Joe Macer and James Dickey officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 4:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Born in Lawrence County, Tennessee, she is the daughter of the late Clyde and Eunice White Porter. She was married to the late Jesse Lee White, who passed away in 1982. Mrs. White was a homemaker, and former co-owner and operator, along with her husband, of Four Lane Market in Columbia in the 1950s. For many years, she worked in the Coffee Shop at the former Maury Regional Hospital and really enjoyed the time she spent there. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and watching Tiger Woods play golf. She was a member of Eastside Church of Christ. Mrs. White is survived by a son, David (Diane) White of Columbia; two granddaughters, Beth (David) Meyers and Cindy (Mike) Anderson; three grandsons, Danny White, Jesse (Sasinpa) White, III, and Adam David White; a sister, Margaret (Carl) Gibson of Detroit, MI; eight great-grandchildren, Brennon White, Alexanderia Redding, Alysse Redding, Aaron Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Jessica White, Morgan White, Kasen White; a daughter-in-law, Janet White; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred Seagroves Baker and two sons, Jesse Lee White, Jr. and Edward White; three sisters, Mary Lois McKee, Ruth Collins, Edna Bondra; one brother, Mabron Porter. Pallbearers will be Mike Anderson, David Meyers, Gwynn Savage, Barry Brown, Danny Lasater, and Bill Moore. Honorary guests will be members of East Side Church of Christ, Dr. William A. Robinson, III, Clifford E. Johnson, Bobby Williams, and Donald White. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.heritage-fhcs.com.
