Mrs. Virginia Cleo Hankins May, 86, formerly of Pontiac, Michigan and resident of Paige Court in Columbia, died Friday, October 24, 2008 at NHC Hillview. A graveside service for Mrs. May will be conducted Monday, October 27, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Pete Tackett officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The Benton, Illinois native was the daughter of the late Acra Washington and Ethel Whittington Hankins. She was the widow of Gilbert May who died in 1982. She was a homemaker and attended First Baptist Church of Columbia. She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Patricia) Wolfe of Columbia; Gary (Carol) Wolfe of Higgins Lake, MI; sisters, Loucille Steive, Louise Hammond, and Dorothy Bertetti all of Clarkston, MI; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
