Rosemary Chatt Park, 78, wife of Thomas J. Park, formerly of Batavia, New York and resident of Hartsfield Drive in Columbia, died Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Life Care Center in Columbia. A memorial service for Mrs. Park will be Friday, May 29, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Thomas officiating. Inurnment services will be held at a later date at Grand View Cemetery in Batavia. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A native of Batavia, New York, she was the daughter of the late Jonas Chatt and Irene Hottois. Mrs. Park was retired from N L Industries in Batavia, New York where she worked as a casting inspector and was also a homemaker. She was an avid cook, baker, and reader. She also had a love for animals. She was of the Protestant faith, In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Christine (Stephen) Rase of Warsaw, New York; a son; Michael (Debbie) Mistal of Silver Lake, New York; a granddaughter, Cara (Tim) Bertrand of Sturbridge, Massachussetts; three grandsons, Cory Rase of Warsaw, New York, Nathan (Esther) Haynos of Niceville, Florida and Stephen Brown who is currently serving our country in the U.S. Air Force in Iraq; special cousin, Dottie Chatt of Wilburn, Georgia; special pets, Sassy & Tigger; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Penelope Brown; two brothers, Richard Chatt and Sonny Chatt. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203, or the Maury County Animal Shelter 1233 Maple Ash Columbia, Tennessee 38401. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Life Care Center for the love and care they gave Mrs. Park.
