Mr. Claude H. Kelley, 83, a resident of Cemetery Avenue, died Friday, August 8, 2008, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral Services for Mr. Kelley will be conducted Monday, August 11, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Parkway Baptist Church located at 1500 Tom J. Hitch Parkway with Rev. Homer Dee Kelley and Keith Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday, August 10, 2008 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. The Maury County native was the son of the late Haut and Addie Dorton Kelley and was previously married to Emma McCoy Kelley of Centerville. He was retired with many years of service from the City of Columbia Street Department. Mr. Kelley was of the Baptist faith having recently been attending the Old Lasea Baptist Church. He enjoyed car shows, restoring antique automobiles, and loved traveling. He is survived by two daughters, Margaret (Charles) DeLong of Sumner, Illinois and Nancy (Ernest) Spann of Centerville; a son, James Howard Kelley of Centerville; a brother, Rev. Homer Dee (Ann) Kelley of Columbia; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Dawn Kelley of Columbia. He was preceded in death by a special friend, Mildred Cothran; two sisters, Edna King and Gertrude Johnson; a brother, Vernon Kelley. Active pallbearers will be Bobby Parker, John Totty, Jason Choy, Tom Harper, Larry Tidwell, Michael Potts, Buford Kelley, and Glen Bates. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Scott, friends and employees of The Sandwich Shoppe and the employees of the City of Columbia Street Department.
