Danta , David Sylvanus Dunn, 61, formerly of Nashville, and a resident of East Burt Drive in Columbia, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Services for Mr. Dunn will be conducted Friday, January 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram. Inurnment will follow. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Born in Davidson County, he was the son of the late Charles Malcolm and Emma Jean Brown Dunn. He was married to the late Lavergne Rippy Dunn. He was a retired electronic technician in television repairs and with phone companies. Mr. Dunn enjoyed music, watching TV, SciFi, repairing most anything, loved and took care of his family. He attended the Church of Christ. Mr. Dunn was survived by his daughters, Daffaney Hopkins and Teresa (James Cole) Davenport, both of Columbia; son, Larry (Chris) Dunn of Lebanon, TN; granddaughter, Stephanie (Brian) Davenport; 13 grandchildren, Austin, Hailey, Angel, Alee, Matthew, Jacob, Robin, Cody, Sabrina, Larry, Jr., Nathan, Haven, and Chelsea; 1 great granddaughter, Alyssa Phillips; several nieces and nephews; and sons-in-law, Guy Davenport and Kenneth Hopkins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Dunn, a grandson, DeShaun Anderson, and a son-in-law, Jerry Davenport.
