Mrs. Joy Maxine Roberts Hicks, 76, a resident of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, died Friday, Janaury 23, 2009, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services for Mrs. Hicks will be conducted Sunday, January 25, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, Kentucky with Rev. Ronald Worley officiating. The family will visit with friends, Sunday, January 25, 2009 from 12:00 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted Monday, January 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wofford Cemetery in Williamsburg, Kentucky. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. A native of Kentucky, Mrs. Hicks was the daughter of the late J. W. and Laura Turvey Roberts. She was the wife of 59 1/2 years to Fred Junior Hicks. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She collected dolls, enjoyed making fudge, and various types of ceramics. She loved giving and receiving hugs. She attended the Assembly of God in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. In addition to her husband, she was survived by 3 daughters, Debbie (Fred) Wells of Speedwell, TN, April (Steve) Wilson of Murfreesboro, TN, and Pamela Hicks of Columbia, TN; 2 sons, Tim (Maureen) Hicks of Columbia, TN, and Daryl Hicks of Grand Rapids, MI; 2 sisters, Margie (J. W.) Faulkner of Brooklyn, MI and Jackie Crawford of Elizabethtown, KY; 6 grandchildren, Shannon Hicks, Matthew (Chasta) Hicks, David (Sarah) Owens, April (Tommy) Inman, Shane (Tiffany) Wilson, and Jeremy Wilson; 9 great-grandchildren, Jordan Cole, Brianna Cole, Makaia Hicks, Tyler Owens, J. D. Owens, Sydney Owens, Sean Byrde, Zachery Owens, and Zoee Wilson. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Lillian Simpson, Arvilla Bush, and Mary Wigginton. Pallbearers will be Matthew Hicks, David Owens, Shane Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, Tommy Inman, and Tyler Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Wilson, Daryl Hicks, and Fred Wells.
