Charlotte Brooks Lentz, 64, formerly of Summertown and a resident of Maple Court in Columbia, died Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services for Mrs. Lentz will be conducted Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 609 Bear Creek Pike, with Randy Fox & James Dickey officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday, August 4, 2009 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A native of Maury County, she was the daughter of Mary Hann Brooks of Culleoka and the late Tom Brooks. She was the widow of Clyde Edward Lentz, who she was married to for 43 years. Mrs. Lentz was a former employee of the jewelry department at Wal-Mart and a homemaker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a loyal Elvis fan and enjoyed getting together with family and friends. Mrs. Lentz was a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Tammy Lentz Gray of Hohenwald; a grandson, Nathan Don Gray of Columbia; sisters, Velma (Howard) Moore of Culleoka, Ruby (Nelson) Scott of the Glendale Community, and Mary Tom Parks of Shady Grove; a brother, Jimmy Brooks of Marshall County; a special friend, Brenda Barnhill of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Greg Lentz who died in 1989. Pallbearers will be George Stofel, Marshall Webster, Scott Barnhill, Carl Moore, Ray Cherry, James Morrow, Michael Campbell, and Todd Campbell. Honorary Pallbearers will be The Lunch Bunch and members of Smyrna Church of Christ.
