Patricia Lynn White Pat Pope, 57, a teachers assistant at Woodard Elementary School died Thursday, July 2, 2009 at her residence on Perry Hill Church Road in the Bigbyville Community. Funeral services for Mrs. Pope will be conducted Monday, July 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, 609 Bear Creek Pike, with Rev. Ronnie Paul and Rev. Dennis Owens officiating. Burial will be in the Maury Memorial Gardens, Garden of Peace. The family will visit with friends Sunday, July 5, 2009 from 2:00 " 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Pope was a native of Giles County. She is the daughter of Brownie Chapman White and the late Leon White. She was a 1969 graduate of Giles County High School and attended Martin Methodist College. In 1986, she married Terry Pope, and they shared 23 wonderful years together. She loved children, enjoyed reading, watching movies, UT Basketball, Atlanta Braves, and most importantly, watching her son play baseball. She was a former employee of Maramont Gabriel in Pulaski. She was a teachers assistant for Woodard Elementary School, Special Education and a homemaker. Her life was being a mother and taking care of her family, including her mother. She attended Highland Park Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Jonathan Pope of the Bigbyville Community; a brother, Jackie (Misty) White of Pulaski; a niece, Jennifer White of Pulaski; a nephew, Nathan White of Pulaski; a special pet, Simon; a special friend, Drew Sparkman of Columbia. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robin White. Pallbearers will be Kenny Owens, Randy Sparkman, Bobby Lovett, John Hunt, Shane Willoughby, Charles Lovett, Lyndell Fox, and Jerry Grimmitt. Honorary Pallbearers will be Drew Sparkman, Nathan White, Paul Riggins, Ted Ring, friends and neighbors of the Bigbyville Community, J. E. Woodard Elementary School Family, baseball families of Little League, Babe Ruth, and Columbia Central High School. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
