Mr. Larry Monroe McMeen, 60, a resident of 7th Avenue in Riverside died Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A Memorial Talk for Mr. McMeen will be conducted Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 3.00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home, 609 Bear Creek Pike, with Tim Weaver, minister of Jehovahs Witnesses, as the speaker. The family will visit with friends Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 1:00 " 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A native of Maury County, he is the son of Louchies Monroe McMeen, and the late Ava Beckum McMeen. He was a member of the 1967 graduating class of Spring Hill High School. Mr. McMeen was married 36 years to Jackie Shaw McMeen, who survives. He was baptized as one of Jehovahs Witnesses in 1983, and was active in the door to door ministry in the community. Over the years, he had been employed by George A. Clanton Construction, M. C. West Company and Damron & Sons Construction. He enjoyed golf, outdoor cooking, deep sea fishing, NASCAR, karaoke, and going out to eat with his lunch buddy, Felix Richardson. In addition to his wife and father, Mr. McMeen is survived by his daughter, Emily (Carl) Sanders, his brother, David (Mary Jo) McMeen, and his granddaughter, Kennedy Scarlett Sanders, all of Columbia; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
