Mr. Carl E. Church, age 81 of Spring Hill, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at his residence.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Brother Clay Gentry will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum at Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 14 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM for visitation at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

The Maury County native was born July 15, 1932. He was the son of the late Robert T. Church and Eloise Holt Church. He served his country in the United States Army, and was retired from Monsanto Corporation. Carl married (the former) Norene Gilliam on May 4, 1957. Their commitment to each other ended as they had vowed, separating only due to his passing. In the nearly 57 years together, they shared a lifetime of experiences. Their union was blessed by the addition of two children: Dodd and Dana.

Carl dearly loved his grandchildren and proved to be a devoted family man. In his own words, he loved to cut the lawn and "piddle on the farm." Carl was a member of Lanton Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: Dodd (Gwen) Church; and daughter: Dana (Bryan) Ballard, both of Spring Hill. Additionally, he is survived by two sisters: Betty (Leroy) Tiller of Nashville and Thelma Winchester of Columbia; and three grandchildren: Caleb Church, Brooklyn Ballard and Brinley Ballard .

Those serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Lovell, Larry Winchester, Keith Winchester, Jerry Church, Derek Church, Terry Church, Darren Church, Bobby Troop, Jack Puckett and Billy Puckett. Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Lanton Church of Christ.
