Kristie Dawn Rutherford, 31, formerly of Columbia and a resident of Walrock Lane in Knoxville, Tennessee died Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Alive Hospice of Nashville. The funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, April 16, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Theophilus Ebulueme officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery at Theta. The family will visit with friends Sunday, April 15th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. The Maury County native is the daughter of Linda Victory Carroll of Columbia. She graduated as salutatorian of the Class of 1993 at McGavock High School in Nashville. She received Bachelor of Science degrees in both Microbiology and Biology, and was soon to receive her Masters Degree in Microbiology from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She was employed at LabCorp at the University of Tennessee Knoxville Hospital as a Medical Lab Technician. She was a communicant of the John XXIII Catholic Church in Knoxville. Her hobbies were her 2 dogs, Matty and Cain. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her boyfriend, Rusty Rutherford of Knoxville; sister, Tracy (David) Qualls of Smyrna; maternal grandfather, Raymond Victory of the Theta community; paternal grandfather, James Tosh of Columbia; two nieces, Katie Qualls and Amanda Qualls of Smyrna; nephew, Cody Qualls of Smyrna; step-sister, Rachel Williamson of Murfreesboro; step-brother, Matt Williamson of Lebanon; special cousin, Wendy Tosh of Murfreesboro; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Pearl Hosford Victory. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of The Residence at Alive Hospice.
