OF LOCAL INTEREST Jean Whitwell Williams,77, beloved wife of Charlie Williams, and a resident of Metairie, Louisiana passed away Thursday, July 12, 2007. Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be conducted Sunday, July 15, 2007, 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Garden of Memories Funeral Home in Metairie, Louisiana. The family will visit with friends prior to the service on Sunday, beginning at noon. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. A native of Columbia, Tennessee, Mrs. Williams, her husband of 57 years, and family have made their home in Metairie, Louisiana for 41 years. She was the daughter of the late Benton Whitwell and Osa Anderson Whitwell. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Donna (Dean) Woitha, Vicki (Michael) Burns, Terri Hooper (Urbain) Alison, Valerie (Eric) Curlee; grandchildren, Jordan Hooper, Evan Woitha, Justin Hooper,Carly Woitha, Amelia Burns,Jenna Hooper, Samantha Burns, Melissa Curlee, and Michael Curlee; brothers, Carlton Whitwell and Riss Delk. Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Michael Williams; sisters, Eleanor Hines and Shirley Allen; brothers, Eldred Whitwell and Dennis Whitwell. She was the unofficial mom and Granny to many others.
