Mr. David Glenn Hughes, 59, a resident of the Santa Fe Community, died Friday, April 23, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A Memorial Service for Mr. Hughes will be conducted on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Alexander and Keith Baker officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday, April 26, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. A private family inurnment will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Polk Memorial Gardens. A native of Maury County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Hilbert (H. E.) and Elsie Pierce Hughes. Mr. Hughes was a 1968 graduate of Santa Fe High School and served in the U. S. Air Force . He worked as a mechanic, and loved horseback riding, dogs, and hunting. Mr. Hughes was a former member of the Mooresville Pike Church of Christ. Mr. Hughes is survived by a son, Mark (Jobie) Hughes of Columbia; 2 grandchildren, Alexandria and Tyler Hughes of Columbia; loving sisters, Barbara (Jerry) Lewis and Vicky (David) Kincaid, both of Columbia; 3 nieces, Libby (Tim) Luther of Santa Fe, Jackie Kincaid and Amarie Kincaid of Columbia; 4 nephews, Jimmy Lewis, Wade (Jessica) Kincaid, Steve (Amber) Kincaid, and Stan (Coelina) Kincaid, all of Columbia; special friends, Josh and Jenna Bradley, Rick Judkins, Danny Green, Imogene Tate; a host of other great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jimmy Hughes, and John Mark Hughes. Honorary guests will be Dugin Kincaid, Cecil Lewis, Terry Hughes, Tim Luther, Wayne Morrow, Wayne Cates, Wade Kincaid, Steve Kincaid, Stan Kincaid, and Bill Bradley.
