Steven Lewis Westmoreland

Mr. Steven Lewis Westmoreland, 62, a resident of Overton Drive, died Friday, April 23, 2010 at Veterans Hospital in Nashville. A Memorial Service for Mr. Westmoreland will be conducted on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with Curtis Dowdy and Jack White officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A native of Maury County, Tennessee, he was the son of Zula McCollum Westmoreland and the late Joe Westmoreland. He was married to Brenda Baker Westmoreland, who survives. Mr. Westmoreland served in the U. S. Army in the Panama Canal. In 1989, he graduated from IBC with an Associates Degree in Bible. Mr. Westmoreland has worked as a pipefitter, a minister, and in maintenance at Crestwood in Huntsville, Alabama. He was a jack-of-all trades and could do most anything. Mr. Westmoreland was a caregiver for his mother, and was very devoted to taking care of her. He was a professional grandfather, and loved his grandchildren very much. Mr. Westmoreland loved hunting, UT Vols, and music, especially the guitar. He was a member of Owens Cross Roads Church of Christ. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by his three children; daughters, Stephanie (Jason) Durham of Owens Cross Roads, AL and Callie (finace, Tim Wilkins) Westmoreland of Republic, MO; son, Steven Brent (Navessa) Westmoreland of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Brandon Durham, Joshua Logan Durham, Jeremiah Brodie Westmoreland, Ryan Hedrick, Harper Westmoreland, Autumn Wilkins, and Baby Lewis Wilkins, who is on his way; brothers, David (Paula) Westmoreland of Columbia, TN and Don (Jean) Westmoreland of Culleoka, TN; sisters, Nancy (Jimmy) Derryberry of Hampshire, TN, Mary Jo Abanatha of Richmond, KY, Brenda (Jerry) Brown of Collierville, TN; sister-in-law, Juanita Westmoreland of Columbia, TN; several nieces, nephews, cousins. He was preceded in death by two nephews, Kent Westmoreland and Jeremy Allen. Honorary guests will be Jason Durham, Joe L. Westmoreland, Sherry and Tommy Underwood, Jackie White, Johnny White, Rusty Baker, Keith Oop Baker, Larry Nicholson, David Nicholson, Elmer Cooper, Glen Voss, Greg Cunningham, Chad Westmoreland, and Justin Brown.
