Geanita Rae McKenna

Geanita Rae McKenna, 89, formerly of Mesa, Arizona, and a resident of Standing Stone Circle, died Monday, October 5, 2009 at Life Care Center of Columbia. A Memorial Service for Mrs. McKenna will be conducted on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Zeigler officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Born in Chuckey, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Mamie Wyatt Moore. In 1939, she married John McKenna, who survives. Mrs. McKenna was a retired real estate agent for Bennett " McKenna Realty in Mesa, Arizona. She had also worked as a sales representative for Sears and Roebuck and was a former waitress for Colonial House in the Detroit, Michigan area. Of all the things around her, she cherished and enjoyed her family and friends the most. She was a member of Central Christian Church of Columbia. In addition to his husband, she is survived by two sons, William Al (Jenny) McKenna of Columbia, TN; Michael (Candice) McKenna of Mesa, AZ; three granddaughters, Leanne (Rick) Burkey of Columbia, TN; Sara (David) Stose of Columbia, TN; Carrie (Ryan) Seckman of Meza, AZ; three great granddaughters, Nicole Shockley and Ryah Lehrman, both of Columbia, TN, McKenna Seckman of Mesa, AZ; five great grandsons, Steve Shockley, Josh Burkey, Jake Burkey, Chance Stose, all of Columbia, TN; Christopher Hansing of Mesa, AZ; four great, great grandchildren, Micah, Caleb, Israel, and Faith Burkey of Columbia, TN; one sister, Senia Gargal of Michigan; three brothers, Jim and Bill Moore of Florida; Dave Moore of Arizona.
