Mrs. Laura Ruth Owens Price, 92, a resident of Westfield Drive in Columbia, died Friday, November 27, 2009 at Life Care Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Price will be conducted Sunday, November 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Curtis Dowdy, David Morris, and her grandson, Scott Jett officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends, Saturday, November 28th, from 4:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Price was born in Adams County, Blue Creek, Ohio. She is a former resident of Portsmouth and Dayton, Ohio and Bradenton, Florida. She is the daughter of the late Foster and Sophie Ann Owens. She was married to the late Harold Edward Pete Price, who passed away September 23, 1989. Mrs. Price was a homemaker, and a long time, faithful member of the Church of Christ, worshiping at Highland Church of Christ. Her interests surrounded her work for the Lord, her church family, and church activities. Mrs. Price is survived by one daughter, Harriet (Travis) Jett of Columbia; one grandson, Scott Jett of Columbia; a sister, Jean Williams of Kettering, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Active pallbearers will be Scott Jett, Jim Cole, Gary Jett, Harvey Briggs, Chaz Cutbill, and Larry Turner. Honorary guests will be the Elders and Deacons of Highland Church of Christ, Dr. Hrishi Kanth, Dr. Robert McClure, the nurses, techs, and therapists at Life Care Center of Columbia Memorials may be made to the Highland Church of Christ Building Fund, 497 East James Campbell Blvd., Columbia, TN 38401 or Columbia Academy, 1101 West 7th St. Columbia, TN 38401.
