Mr. John Dewayne Kelley, 44, former maintenance technician for Lilly Company, subcontractor of Saturn Corporation, formerly of the Culleoka Community, and resident of Bakersby Court in Columbia, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Kelley will be conducted Friday, March 13th at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Vassar and Stephen Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. Family will visit with friends Wednesday and Thursday after 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A native of Maury County, he was the son of the late Bobby E. Kelley, Sr. and Mary McClain Kelley. He was a former employee of Kuhn Farm Equipment and a self employed painter. Mr. Kelley was an avid UT fan, Nascar fan, enjoyed fishing, his dogs, and rabbit hunting. He also enjoyed helping people and loved his family and friends. Mr. Kelley was a member of the Blue Springs Free Will Baptist Church and was a saved Christian. He is survived by his sisters, Karen (Dale) Tate of Columbia, Vickey (Michael) Craig of Estill Springs, Marilyn (Carl) Conner of Chapel Hill; brothers, Bobby Eugene Kelley, Jr., Ron (Diane) Kelley, Douglas (Patti) Kelley all of Columbia and Dickey (Denise) Kelley of Chattanooga; nieces & nephews, Jeremy (Misty) Kelley, Daniel (Stephanie) Kelley, Stephen (Becky) Kelley; Jessica Davis, Jason Pigg, Justin Pigg, Melissa (Cory) Miller, Tiffany (Chris) Sheedy, Amber (Adam) Dobbins; Davin Kelley; Brittany Kelley, and Christie Craig; several great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jason Pigg, Justin Pigg, Jeremy Kelley, Daniel Kelley, David Riley, Tim Beaver, Ray Drewett, and Cory Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Baker, Staff of Intensive Care Unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Dr. Charles Atnip, Dr. John Boone, Dr. Srikar Reddy, and friends of the Culleoka Community.
