Mrs. Rita Kathryn Cruse Kennison, 76, formerly of Galion, Ohio, and a resident of Black Ridge Road in the Lynnville community, died Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at her home. A private memorial service will be held by the family. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A native of Ross County, Ohio, Mrs. Kennison is the daughter of the late James Franklin and Bertha Vest Cruse. On January 27, 1952, she married her best friend and soul-mate, Fred Hillard Kennison, and was blessed with 52 years of marriage to him. Mrs. Kennison worked as a cabinet maker for Fleetwood Mobile Homes and Schultz in Galion, Ohio. She later assembled computer boards for North Electric, also in Galion, Ohio. Mrs. Kennison was a former employee of Quik Mart #14 on Nashville Highway. The job she loved the most and was the most important to her, was being a homemaker and raising her children. She was past secretary of Eagles Auxilary, a member of the American Legion Auxilary Post 24, and AMVETS Post 30, all in Galion, Ohio. Mrs. Kennison loved yard sales, junk stores, country music, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Sterling Marlins Fan Club, and loved her cats, Merlin, Babe, and Tiny. She was a member of Solid Rock Family Worship Center. Mrs. Kennison is survived by her children: daughters, Kathy Bogner and Melanie Pfahler of Mansfield, Ohio, and Lisa (fianc, Anthony Alderson) Bauer of Columbia; a son, James F. Kennison of Lynnville; granddaughters, Amanda (Jason) Chapman, Nicki (Eric) Meister, Angie (Jack) Swartz, all of Mansfield, Ohio; Hillary (Travis) Holt and Katie Bauer, all of Columbia; grandsons, Jared Bogner of Mansfield, Ohio, and J.C. Kennison of Las Vegas, Nevada; 11 great-grandchildren, Cody, Morgan, Raven, Christian, Taylor, Alexis, McKenzie, Paige, Wes, Halle, and Davis. The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff of Hospice Compassus and Rev. Georgina Bearden. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus, 1412 Trotwood Ave., Suite 5, Columbia, TN 38401.
