Mr. Roger Wayne Jewell, 49, a resident of Snow Creek Road in the Theta Community, died unexpectedly Friday, May 11, 2007, in Spring Hill. Services will be conducted Monday, May 14, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Steven Robertson officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. The Maury County native was the son of James R. Jimmy Jewell, Sr. of Santa Fe and the late Deva Mae Hughes. He was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and attended Columbia State Community College. He was previously married to Deborah K. Jewell of Spring Hill. He was an electrician for Local Union #429 in which he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and former employee of Union Carbide Corporation. He was a knife, gun, and record collector and had a strong passion for playing the guitar and songwriting. In addition to his father, he is survived by two daughters, Naomi Holt of Dover, Delaware and Sara Jewell of Spring Hill, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Celeste Holt and Cameron Holt both of Dover, Delaware; a nephew, Jay (Andrea) Jewell of Murfreesboro, TN; several cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel Paul Jewell and James R. Richie Jewell, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Ocie Dillard and Ruth Mae Gabel Jewell of Hickman County; maternal grandparents, Alfred Hugh and Hester Goodin Hughes of Pulaski County, Kentucky.
