Mary Davis Blackburn Rogers, 77, affectionately known as Ms. Mary and formerly of Columbia, died Thursday, May 28, 2009 at her residence on South Main Street in Mt. Pleasant. Services for Ms. Rogers will be conducted Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Hoppus officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday, May 29, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A native of Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late John Jewel Mundy Davis and Georgia Mae Sullivan. She was the widow of Leslie Q. Blackburn and Wesley Rogers. Ms. Rogers was a longtime waitress of Shoneys and former employee of Golden Bowl and Lasko. She was an avid gardener, loved flowers, and birds. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Pruitt of Columbia and Joy (D.L.) Millage of Lawrenceburg,; sons, Ronnie (Barbara) Blackburn of Santa Fe and Thomas Tab (Beckie) Blackburn of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, John W. (Geraldine) Davis of Lebanon; grandchildren, Billy (Becky) Blackburn, Josh Bagwell, Jasmine Jones, Patricia Ferguson, Michelle Ferguson, Crystal Millage, and Daniel Millage; great-grandchildren, Beonka Jackson, James Dean Jackson, Emma Blackburn, Allison Blackburn, William Blackburn, and Taylor Jones; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Quinton Blackburn and a brother, Harold Buck Davis. Pallbearers will be Billy Blackburn, Danny Tank Warren, Randy Davis, Zane Wells, Patrick Smithson, and Calvin Atkins. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.heritage-fhcs.com.
