Mr. Kevin James Cake Drier,23, formerly of Haley Lane in Columbia, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at his residence on Britishwood Drive in Nashville. A Celebration of Life service for Kevin will be conducted Friday, April 16, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Perry officiating. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Friday, April 16, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Born in Lansing, Michigan, he was the son of Dennis W. Drier and Julie Baker Drier both of Columbia, Tennessee. Kevin was currently a student at ITT Tech after proudly serving our country in United States Army for 15 months of active duty in Iraq. After being honorably discharged, in addition to receiving the Purple Heart, Kevin was awarded several decorations, medals, badges, citations and campaign ribbon awards. He enjoyed water sports, boating, target practice at shooting ranges, four-wheeling, traveling, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a member of the VFW Post 4969 of Columbia. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Amy (Patrick) Ainsley of Cornersville, TN; four brothers, Michael Lee (Allison) Whipple and Bradley (Natalie) Drier both of Columbia, TN, Jason (Staci) Whipple of Adrian, MI, and Michael Haselhuhn of Culleoka, TN; six nieces and nephews, Ethan Dennis Whipple, Wyatt Thomas Whipple, Matthew Howell Ainsley, Austin Ainsley, Emma Grace Ainsley, and Reese Drier; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Honorary guests will be Darren Kellum, Jarrad Kellum, Jeremy Grooms, Cody Eubanks, Robby Anderson, Ryan Vernon, Danny Estrada, Chris Koning, and Alex Jackson.
