James "JC" Christopher McKnight

July 25, 1953 - June 24, 2013

Mr. James Christopher JC McKnight, age 59, a resident of Clauson Drive in Columbia, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Family and friends will gather to share memories of JC at 12 Noon on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home with military honors to be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. They will also receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 10 AM-12 Noon at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and is in charge of arrangements. JC was born on July 25, 1953 in Mt. Pleasant and was the son of the late Luther Jerry and Laura Mae Jones McKnight, Sr. He served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. JC worked as a manufacturer, and in his spare time he enjoyed gardening. He leaves behind to cherish his memory three brothers: Steven McKnight, Randolph (Darlene) McKnight, and Tyrone (fianc Marilyn Frierson) McKnight. In addition to his parents, JC was preceded in death by his brothers: Luther Jerry McKnight and Jr., Darius Allen McKnight; sisters: Laura Bell McKnight and Katherine Secrest. JCs nieces, nephews, and cousins will serve as honorary pallbearers. You may share condolences with the family at the top of this page.
