Susan Renee Matthews Bridges

Renee Bridges, age 46, a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday morning, November 5, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Renee will be conducted on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Williamsport Family Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 4-8PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A native of Maury County, Renee was born on May 8, 1967 and was the daughter of Mary Sue (Charles) Mitchell and the late Frank Matthews. She was a very friendly lady who liked riding around and liked seeing everyone. She especially loved her grandbabies. Renee was of the Baptist faith and loved going to church. In addition to her mother and step-father, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband: Billy Bridges of Columbia; son: Chris (Jennifer) Bridges of Columbia; aunts: Peggy Sullivan, Dot Glover; uncles: Robert Sullivan, Johnny Sullivan; nephew: Justin Rhoads (Ashley Sullivan); grandchildren: Brayden Wayne, Zane Bridges, and Kinley Bridges; and great-nephews: Mason and Bentley Rhoads and Jace Scribner. Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her brother: Frank Matthews, Jr. and aunt: Fay (J.C.) Gray. Pallbearers will be Greg Shima, Benji Collins, Tim Fitzgerald, Chris Wilson, John Wilson, Johnny Sullivan, Robert Sullivan, and Spc. Robby Dockery. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Bersheid, Tom Harper, David Osborne, Phil Fitzgerald, and the staff at Maury Regional Medical Center.
