Richard Hugh Dill

Mr. Richard Rick McCombs Dill, age 62, husband of Connie Dill, of Spring Hill, TN, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012, in Mexico while on vacation with his family. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Ralph Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at Maury Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Friday September 21, 2012 from 5 - 8 PM and Saturday from 2:00 until the service hour at 4:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements. A native of Albia, Iowa, Rick was born on May 13, 1950. He was the son of the late Henrietta Morrison Dill and his adopted father Elmer C. Dill and his father, the late Kenneth L. McCombs. He was previously a tool and die maker for General Motors and attended Graceland Community Church of Franklin. He had several hobbies including collecting stamps, coins, pens, and exotic wood and tools. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and recycling. He was a member of the UAW and was an Apologetic Faith Defender. In addition to his wife Connie, Rick is survived by two daughters: Joshea McCombs Dill and Misty McCombs (Troy) Jones both of Spring Hill, TN; sister: Diane Dillon of Florida; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters: Helena Saniatan, Sharon Bonner, and Holly Lay. Pallbearers will be his co-workers of UAW 1853.
