Ray Allman Mr. Raybon Carl Allman, age 72, husband of Edith Allman and a resident of Riverside Drive in Columbia, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A funeral service for Mr. Allman will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Brother Ronnie and Sister Sherry Banks officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family visit with friends on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Born in Oneonta, Alabama, he was the son of the late Howard Guy Allman and the late Ruth Langston Allman. He and his wife Edith were married on June 25, 1960. He retired from the Williamson County Highway Department and had formerly worked for General Machine Works. This loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. He loved football and was a devoted Titans fan. His sweet spirit and gentle ways will truly be missed by his family and all of his friends. In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Allman left behind to cherish his memory one daughter, Violet Cozart of Columbia, TN; one son, Wendell (Sherry) Allman of Mt. Pleasant, TN; one step-son, Ted Chapman of Columbia, TN; one brother, Jimmy (Lona) Allman of Gafney, SC; one sister, Margaret Ann (Ralph) Dover of Oneonta, AL, two grandchildren: Amanda Cozart and Josh (Crystal) Cozart and 2 great grandchildren: Linsey Hope Browning and Christopher Lynn Cozart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Anthony "Tony" Allman and two brothers: Orville Allman and Bob Allman. Pallbearers will include: Billy Browning, Jerry Gray, Lucky Baker, John Daniels, Will Fitzgerald and Gene Sullivan. Honorary Pallbearers will include his nephews, Hospice Personnel, and the doctors and staff of Maury Regional Medical Center.
