Herbert Goins

November 27, 1927 - December 28, 2012

Mr. Herbert Goins, age 85, and a long time resident of Burt Drive in Columbia passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at Bordeaux Hospital in Nashville. Memorial services will be Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home. The family will also visit with friends on Friday from 9:00 AM until the service hour. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Herbert was born on November 27, 1927 in Zanesville, Ohio. He previously worked as a construction worker for Kings Pipeline in Nashville. He was a people person who loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and having a good time. He is survived by three daughters: Decelia Goins of Nashville, Janice Garrett of Columbia, Betty Davis of Columbia; two grandchildren: Amanda Goins, Celeste Newsom; eight great-grandchildren: Shanti, Terrance, Kacie, Makya, LaVontre, Clarence, and Teera Goins, and Jahmal Robinson. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Betty Elizabeth Nelson Goins. Condolences may be sent to the family at the top of this page.
