Robert "Steve" Buie

August 16, 1963 - July 15, 2011

Mr. Robert Steven (Steve) Tom Buie, age 47 and a resident of Lake Road in Mt. Pleasant, TN, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Friday, July 15, 2011. Funeral services for Steve will be Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM at The Lighthouse Church Of Jesus Christ, 2000 Williamsport Pike Columbia, with Rev. Darrell Thrasher and Rev. Bill Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family will visit with friends at The Lighthouse Church of Jesus Christ on Monday, July 18, 2011 from 3:00 PM " 8:00 PM and before the service from 12:00 PM until service time. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements. Steve grew up in Lawrence County or (LBurg as he called it). He enjoyed baseball, football, and motorcycle riding. On Sundays you would catch him watching Nascar or football. Steve could play just about any musical instrument there was but his favorite was his acoustic guitar. He was an awesome songwriter & singer. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and granddaughter. He was always spoiling his nieces (JuJu & Peaches) with gum or candy. He was baptized on Mothers Day 3 years ago in Jesus Name. He loved God. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Steve is survived by his parents; Mary Fay Reed, (mother) and his father, Robert Lee Buie; one son; Robert Joseph Cane Buie and his mother Tori Lynn Davidson; one daughter; Laci Somer Buie and her mother Jane Duwan Buie; four brothers; Buddy Smith, Roy Zebulon Buie, Kip Dylane (Michelle) Buie, and Jason Daniel (Bubba) Luffman; two sisters; Misty (Jeffrey) Galberth and Monica Lee Buie Smith; one grandchild; Madison Gray McCracken; several nieces and nephews; Jana (Peaches) Lafay, Autumn (Juju) Rayne Galberth, Montana Raine Smith, Blazeny Preston Kilburn, Robert Blaine Kilburn, Haili Brooke Kilburn, Orean Blade Smith, Amber Bailey Smith, Kasen Lane Buie, Kendall LaShay Buie, Kaden Daniel Luffman; and several aunts and uncles; Simley (Linda Juanita) Wallace, Jean Buie, Norma Livina (Gary) Bonee, David Wayne Buie, Sharon Yvonnia Buie. He was preceded in death by: Charles R. Smith (stepdad), Roy Herman and Maddie Ellen Buie (grandparents), and Tom and Cleo Reed (grandparents). Pallbearers will be: Bubba Yokam, W.C. (Bug) Brown, Eddie Hopper, Jimmy Davidson, Jay Davidson, Steve Taylor, Travis Wiseman, Tommy Nelson, Tony Weathers, Blaze Kilburn, Blaine Kilburn, and Tristan McCracken.
