Juan Lahera, Sr.

February 8, 1946 - December 7, 2012

Mr. Juan Lahera, Sr., a resident of Hohenwald, TN, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family.

His family will conduct private memorial services at the home, at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lahera was born February 8, 1946 in Cuba. He was the son of Eugene Lahera and Delores Diog Lahera, of the Catholic faith, and a composer and lyricist. He will remembered for his love of his family and his compassion toward children. He had a way of getting down to their level to encourage them to continue their education and learn. Juan would put others before himself as well. In his free time, he loved to cook and share meals with those around him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a twin brother.

Survivors include his wife: Dawn Marie Nash Lahera of Hohenwald; eight sons: Juan Lahera, Jr, Joel Lahera, Juan Lahera III, Jesse Nash, Shawn Nash, Julian Nahs, Christian Nash, and Lorenzo Nash; a daughter: Elis Lahera; brothers-in-law: Shawn Clark and Garrey Nash; sisters-in-law: Diana Nash, Darlene Nash II, and Linda Nash; a grandchild: Raymond Lahera; mother-in-law: Darlene Nash; father-in-law: Garrey Nash Sr.; and a nephew: Jimmy Nash.
