Mr. Jerry Delk Norman, 66, a long-time resident of Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at his residence on Nowlin Drive in Columbia.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Norman will be conducted Sunday, March 7, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Kimbrough officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Maury County, Tennessee, he is the son of the late Thomas Sidney and Eunice Murphy Logue Norman. He was a graduate of Hay Long High School, and attended Columbia State Community College for 2 years. He was married to Carolyn Faye Anderson Norman, who survives. Mr. Norman graciously served our country in the U. S. Army in Germany. He was retired from production at Stauffer Chemical Company/Zeneca in Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Norman was a free-spirited person, who loved his family and friends. He was an avid hunter, collected guns and pocket knives, was a UT and Titans fan, and loved his dog, “Red Man”. He was of the protestant faith.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Norman is survived by his son, Michael Norman of Columbia; his daughter, Kelly (Mark) Lovvorn of Chapel Hill; two brothers, Howard (Margaret) Norman and Leroy “Blackie” (Mary) Norman, both of Mt. Pleasant; seven sisters, Ann Tarpley of Columbia; Juanita (Gordon) Freeman of Murfreesboro; Sara Dale of Mt. Pleasant; Sharon (Charles) Sain of Nolensville; Wanda (Jerry) Fly of Columbia; Faye (Randy) Woods of Mt. Pleasant; Nadine (Don) Brogan of Columbia; three grandchildren, Brandon Carter, Randy Jackson, and Ashley Lovvorn; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christy D. Jackson; a sister, Jewell Grooms; and a brother, Billy Norman.

Honorary Guests will be David Calvert, Van Boshers, Jeffrey Burke, Jim King, Gary Joe King, Billy Hollis, Jack Riddle, Hunter Smith, Bobby Smith, and Phil Clark.

Memorials may be made to the Maury County Humane Society.
