Thomas G. Holt, Jr.

April 3, 1964 - December 11, 2010

Mr. Thomas G. Holt, Jr., age 46, the husband of Sheila Holt and a resident of Graham Road in Culleoka, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 11, 2010 following a courageous fight with cancer.

Funeral Services for Mr. Holt will be conducted 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the First United Pentecostal Church on Baker Road in Columbia with Pastor Telford Tharp, Pastor Jason Keyser and Rev. Prentice Burks officiating. Burial will follow in the Loftin Cemetery in Columbia. The family will visit with friends on Monday, December 13, 2010 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home and again on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 11:00 AM until service time at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Thomas was the son of Thomas G. Holt Sr. and Linda S. (Guillory) Holt of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. He spent most of his adult life working at the Sawmill and he was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Columbia. After meeting Sheila, the love of his life, they were married on October 29, 1988 and they soon gave birth to the joy of their life, their daughter Brittany.

Thomas’ family recalls his consistent love for football which began when he was a small boy. He would go outside and play his own ‘football game’ and then he would also be the commentator to report on his own game. As he matured, his love for football continued to grow and the Dallas Cowboys found a special place in his heart. In addition to football, Thomas had a true love for reading to which his huge in-home library can attest to. Louis L’Amour was among his favorite authors, but the Bible was his all time favorite. He loved to read and study God’s Word. And, of course, we cannot fail to mention that Thomas was a true Elvis Presley fan.

In addition to his wife and parents, Thomas left to cherish his memory one daughter, Brittany Holt of Culleoka, TN; one brother Todd (Gina) Holt, Jr. of Columbia, TN, his paternal grandmother, Naomi L. Holt of Kirbyville, TX and a special aunt, Stella F. Liles also of Kirbyville, TX; several nieces, nephews, aunts & uncles.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Johnny C. Holt, Sr., & grandparents; Leroy & Ruth Guillory.

Pallbearers will include; David Ault, Nathaniel Adams, Ricky Conner, Kenny Conner, Barry Conner, Joey Beckum, Josh Beckum, & Dwayne Winningham.

Honorary Guests will be the Maury Regional Medical Center 3rd Floor Oncology Staff, Dr. Dana Backland, and The Oncology Staff at Vanderbilt Hospital; Todd Holt, Connor Holt Bubba Lewis, Charles Lewis, Jerry Osborne, Donald Lewis, Bob Nagy, Tommy Kinzer, Willie Adams, Butch Ellis, Alvin Luna, Jacky Rowland & Roy Dugger.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Thomas Holt, Jr. Memorial Fund in care of Heritage Funeral Home 609 Bear Creek Pike, Columbia, TN 38401.
