Alice Pearl Crigger Hill, age 86, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Alive Hospice in Nashville.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 22 nd at 11am in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Randall Pardue and A.M. Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Scribners Mill Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 10am until the 11am service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Alice was born to parents Ewell and Pearl Crigger in Maury County on May 28, 1932. She was raised two miles up from the church on McKnight Road and by her widowed Mother. Her Dad died when she was only 4 years old.

She graduated from the 8 th grade at Fountain Heights School in 1945. She was baptized at Scribners Mill Church of Christ in nearby Fountain Creek in August of 1948. She graduated from Culleoka High School in 1950. She left home the next month for Nashville to attend Draughons Business College. Her first job was secretary for Southern Woodenware for 14 years. Her second job was Keypunch Operation for Tennessee Carolina Transportation Company for 16 years. Her third job was receptionist and secretary for Jimco, Inc. for 3 years. Her fourth job was an office worker for Threads, U.S.A. for 2 ½ years. Her fifth job was a hostess at Acuff Theater at Opryland for 3 summers. She lived at the Central Church of Christ Girls Home for 20 years.

She married Charles F. “Chuck” Hill on October 2, 1981 who was from New York State and was married for 31 years. He preceded her in death December 1, 2012. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers: Marvin Crigger, Woodrow Crigger, and Lonnie Crigger; and 2 sisters: Bonnie Crigger Mash and Delia Crigger Osborne.

She is survived by her nieces: Lady Ann Watson, Charlene Victory, Mary Mash, Evone Wells, Vicky Hethcote, and Debra Doud; nephew: Arthur Ray Crigger; and special friends: Ryan Cargill and Mary Adams.

Active pallbearers will be Paul Nance, Marion Craft, Steve Caraway, Ryan Cargill, John McMeen, and David McMeen. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Johnson, Thelma Chandler, Alice Childress, Judy Allen, Eleanor Alexander, Gloria Parham, Brenda Craft, Linda Cargill, Betty Reedy, Patsy West, Eva Laura Morris, Janette Andrews, Anne Armstrong, Georgia Lashlee, Shirley Howell, Joan Dial, and Loretta Buchanan.
