Alvin Traywick, age 79, resident of Westmoreland, TN passed away Saturday, August 1 at Elk River Rehab in Ardmore, TN.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 Am on Saturday, August 15 at Fee Cemetery in Rose Hill, VA. with Rev. Rodney Hensley officiating. Military honors will be provided by the US Navy. Heritage Funeral Home of Columbia, TN is in charge of arrangements.
Born June 25, 1941 in Dyersburg, TN, he was the son of the late Ollie and Erma Clyde Traywick and husband of Phyllis Langley Traywick. He worked for the Knox County government as a family & marriage counselor and he loved to play golf. Mr. Traywick served as a HM2/E-5 (Hospital Corpsman Second Class) in the US Navy aboard a medical ship in Vietnam, that treated the orphan children, and was on one of the recovery ships of the NASA space program. He always had a special love for children and animals.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his caring step-daughter: Patricia Hensley; his children: Steve Traywick, Chad Traywick, Scott Traywick and Alisa Dillon; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters.
