Anderson Dodson, Jr.

Mr. Bevley Anderson “Cotton” Dodson, Jr., age 77, a resident of Akin Ridge in the Water Valley Community, passed away Thursday evening, November 7, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Kenvin Sisk officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 5-7PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on March 11, 1942 in Maury County and raised on a farm in Water Valley, Anderson was the son of the late Bevley Anderson Dodson, Sr. and the late Esterline Dodson. He was a 1960 graduate of Santa Fe School where he was an excellent basketball player. He worked at Dixie Electric in Columbia before transferring to Tennessee Electric Motor where he worked for nearly 25 years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his dogs and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children: Gary Dodson (Wanda Everett) of North Carolina, Terry Dodson (Sherry Scott) of Williamsport, Debbie (Dale) Martin of Lyles; brothers: George (Annette) Dodson of Santa Fe, Frank (Linda) Dodson of Jackson; sister, Zonelle (Stan) Kozich of Fairview; grandchildren: Amanda Love, Jessica Gomez, Kelly Owens, Ashlee Dodson, Heather Ramirez, Robert Buckmaster, Justin Martin, Arianna Dodson, Caleb Dodson, Garrett Dodson, Zoe Zent; eleven great grandchildren; and beloved dogs: Angel and Bouncer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Dodson and father and mother in law, Bill & Ruby Baker.

Pallbearers will be: Justin Martin, Luke Brooks, Trenton Love, Caleb Dodson, Olin Owens, Felipe Gomez, and Carlos Ramirez.
