Arthur Wentzel

Mr. Arthur Wentzel, age 87, a resident of Cornersville, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Richard VanCleave officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Springs Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on December 6, 1933 in Primm Springs, TN, Arthur was the son of the late Marie Ade Wentzel and the late Wilford Willie Wentzel. He was retired from Union Carbide, where he worked in the labor janitorial department. Arthur was the husband to the late Jewel A. Wentzel. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, serving as a deacon. Arthur loved farming, going to church and fellowshipping with his church family. He also loved going to gospel singings. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he was very devoted to his family.

Arthur is survived by his two sons: Dennis (Terry) Wentzel of Cornersville and Darell (Kim) Wentzel of Cornersville; sister, Marie Jones of Cornersville; seven grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers: W.A. Wentzel and Kenneth Wentzel; five sisters: Mable Banks, Evelyn Fuller, Grace Pinkerton, Vermell Marshall, and Margaret Henderson; his son, Danny Wentzel; and grandson-in-law, Jeremy Allen.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Wentzel, Justin Wentzel, Augustus Wentzel, Colton Wentzel, Benton Cheatam, Clay McKinney, Richie Gilliam, Wesley Gilliam, and Mackenzie Wentzel.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Wentzel, Payton Allen, and members of the Rock Springs Baptist Church.
