Audrey Slaughter

Audrey Mai Potts Slaughter, age 78, a resident of Primm Springs, passed away Monday morning, March 25, 2019 at Life Care Center.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Adkisson and Sonny Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 4-8PM and again on Wednesday from 12-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Maury County, Audrey was born on April 9, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Calvin Potts and the late Josie Byrd Potts. She loved going to church and was a member of Hilltown Church of Christ. Audrey retired from Durango Boot Company and was an avid fan of George Strait. She treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her daughter said she was her rock and best friend.

She is survived by her son: Kenneth Slaughter of Primm Springs; daughter: Tammy “Toot” Jones of Primm Springs; brother: Charlie Potts of Santa Fe; sisters: Ruth Smith of Culleoka, Kathleen Mitchell of Santa Fe, Ester (Wayne) Kinney of Santa Fe, Earline Morrow of Santa Fe, Carolyn Potts (Calvin Atkins) of Columbia; grandchildren: Brandon (Destiny) Jones, Cody (Jennifer) Slaughter; great grandchildren: Hailey, Austin, and Kaleb Hazlett; and sisters-in-law: Ester Mai Ragsdale and Mamie Starnes.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Jimmy Slaughter; brothers: Robert, R.B. Potts, Jr. Potts, and Frank Potts; sister: Marie Goodson; and father and mother in law: Hicks Slaughter and Annie Mae Slaughter Williams.

Pallbearers will be: Brandon Jones, Cody Slaughter, Mike Barnes, Bobby Potts, Randy Matlock, Jeff Warren, Phillip Stanfill, Shane Potts, and Zac Potts.

Honorary pallbearers will include: Guy Potts, Jeff Potts, Darvin Mitchell, Wendell Ragsdale, and Donald Potts, and the staff at Life Care Center.
