Ava Nell Lovell Mcmeen

Ava Nell McMeen, age 82, wife of Frank McMeen, Sr. and a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday evening, March 11, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 10AM in the Hunter Room at Heritage Funeral Home with Bobby Sands and Frank McMeen, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Grace in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 9-10AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on September 11, 1937 in Lewisburg, Ava was the daughter of the late Edgar Wilson Lovell and the late Tommy Oxylene Hobbs Lovell. She married Frank Turner McMeen, Sr. in 1954 and together they had two children. She worked many years for Bellsouth before retiring and was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. She enjoyed going to the Walking Horse Celebration in Shelbyville and especially loved going to her grandchildren’s ballgames. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons: Frank McMeen, Jr. of Jackson, TN and Mike (Jacquelyn) McMeen of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren: Jaclyn (Brian) Huckaby, John (Brittany) McMeen, Toni Cain, Hannah McMeen; and great grandchildren: Faith Huckaby, Makayla Huckaby, John Huckaby, Abby McMeen, Chesney Stein, Laikyn Stein and Kendyn McMeen.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Travis Lovell.

Pallbearers will be: John McMeen, Sammy Brooks, Brian Huckaby, Howard Adkisson, John Huckaby, and Douglas Jones.
