Barbara Ann Hayes

Mrs. Barbara Ann Hayes, age 65, of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 11AM – 1PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on January 3, 1954 in Columbia, Barbara was the daughter of the late Cleveland Andrew Slaughter and the late Alline M. Haywood Slaughter. She worked as a nurse tech for NHC, Poplar Estates and The Bridge. She enjoyed working in the yard, doing craft and collecting antiques.

She is survived by her husband, Dewayne Hayes; son, Shane Roland (Amanda Shepherd) of Columbia; step daughter, Jennifer Hayes of Columbia; brother, Jerry (Debbie) Slaughter of Mt. Pleasant; sisters: Kathy (Steve) Allen, Betty (Johnny) Mayberry, Ann (Ronnie) Stanfill all of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Mallory and Jake Roland, Lucas and Brantley Jackson, and Lexi and Logan Stanfill; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Carolyn Slaughter and Faye Woodard.

Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Stanfill, Randy Stanfill, Timothy Pinkard, Lee Pinkard, Ronnie Allen, and Jonathan Thomas.
