Barbara Yarborough

Mrs. Barbara M. Yarborough, age 79, wife of Charles Yarborough, and a resident of the Fly Community in Santa Fe, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. J.J. King officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to the funeral home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 5, 1940 in Everett, Massachusetts, Barbara was the daughter of the late Harold W. Bowman and the late Muriel Milson Bowman. She married Charles on May 17, 1997 and was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Primm Springs. Barbara worked many years as a cashier for Kroger and was an excellent house wife. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing and had a huge collection of teddy bears and Cabbage Patch dolls.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son: Harold (Amy) Jackson of Alford, TX; daughter: Suzanne (Scott) Yates of Clayton, NC; sister: Phyllis (Robert) Hahn of Massachusetts; grandchildren: Teryn Christopher Jackson, Angela Jackson; great granddaughter: Zoey Jackson; brother in law: Eddie Yarborough; sister in law: Jeanette Hayman; and nephews: David and Bobby Bowman.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Bowman.

Pallbearers will be: Scott Vernon Davidson, Blaine Henry Malcolm, Michael Dale Burridge, Richard Roberts, Jerry Shouse, and Roger Adams. Scott Yates will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
