Bertha Westdale Cooper, age 75, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at NHC Columbia.
Born on May 14, 1949, in Pulaski, Tennessee, Bertha was the daughter of the late Saint Clair Dudley and the Sally M. Cooper. Bertha remained faithful for fifteen years to her best friend, the late Mr. David Willie Sharp, Jr. “Baby Dee.” When you saw one, you saw the other; the two were inseparable.
She was educated in the Maury County School System, she professed a hope in Christ at White Springs United Primitive Baptist Church in 2024. Bertha was very known in Columbia, Tennessee all of her life and enjoyed outdoors. She loved sitting on her front porch waving and smiling at everyone that passed by her home. She enjoyed telling jokes, smiling, laughing and loved nature, even dogs. She was free-spirited, loved to dance and watch Western movies as well as soap operas. Bertha worked as a housekeeper at the James K. Polk Motel in the late 70’s to early 80’s, which is now nonexistent.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving memories her bonus family, Rolove “Love” Drumwright; her Guardians included T.J. Foster of Alabama, Des Davis of Culleoka, TN, Mimi Sharp of Columbia, TN, C.J. Benderman of Leoma, TN, Ri Benderman of Columbia, TN, and Bri Benderman of Columbia, TN.
Bertha’s special friends were Mr. Michael, Mr. Eldridge Mayberry, Mr. Ricky Scribner, Mr. & Mrs. Karen & Randolph Lockridge, Mr. Rudolph Lockridge all of Columbia, TN, and a host of extended family and friends.
