Beth Mahaffey

Emma Elizabeth Mahaffey, age 72, resident of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2021 at her residence.

Beth was born in Williamson County and was the daughter of the late Clifton King Henry and the late Aline Smithson Henry.  She graduated from Franklin High School in 1967.  She met the love of her life, Bobby Mahaffey at Columbia State Community College where she cheered, and he played basketball.  He preceded her in death in 2017.  She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and retired from E.A. Cox Middle School as a secretary.  Beth had a contagious smile and laugh.  She was always a positive person that loved helping others.  She was a lady that loved giving more than receiving.  She enjoyed being outdoors, cooking and baking, and was known in the community for baking.  Most of all she loved her kids and grandkids.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter: Kim Boyd (Jeremy) of Columbia; twin sister: Sarah Virginia Wallace of Fayetteville; grandchildren: Casen Boyd of Columbia, Taylor (Kevin) Neumann of Michigan, Abby Mahaffey of MI, and Zach Wray of Columbia; great grandchildren: Benson, Blake, Elle, and Loretta; and her special longtime friend: Sandra Selle.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Brent Mahaffey.

Due to Covid19 the family will have a private memorial service at Heritage Funeral Home.
