Elizabeth Betty Buechner

Elizabeth Betty Buechner, age 78, a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at her residence.

A funeral mass will be conducted at 10AM on Monday, February 4, 2019 at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Hendricks officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 4-6PM at Heritage Funeral Home with a rosary to be held at 5:30PM. Burial will take place on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 10:15AM at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 21, 1940 in Lawrenceburg, Betty was the daughter of the late A.G. Beckman and the late Marjorie McClaren Beckman. She served her country in the United States Air Force and previously worked as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and enjoyed doing church activities and communion work for the church. Betty also loved reading religious books and going on cruises.

She is survived by her husband: David Buechner of Columbia; sons: David (Robyn) Buechner of Germantown, Grant Buechner of Columbia; brothers: Lester (Joyce) Beckman of Lawrenceburg, Jimmy (Lois) Beckman of Lawrenceburg; sisters: June (Roy) Sandrell of Lawrenceburg, Doris (Pat) Morris of Lawrenceburg; and grandchildren: Alexandra Buechner, Sarah Buechner, and Tiffany Buechner.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Beckman.
