Betty J. Wolfe, age 92, a resident of Campbellsville Pike in Culleoka, passed away Saturday morning, February 16, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11AM at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Davis Chackaleckel officiating. Entombment will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 5-8PM with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:30PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on April 13, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Betty was the daughter of the late Albert Umenthum and the late Sophie Figlesthaler Umenthum. Betty married Robert Wolfe on August 21, 1948 and together they had nine children. She was a longtime resident of Midland, MI before moving to Columbia, TN in 1981. She worked as a registered nurse and retired from Maury Regional Medical Center. After retiring, she continued volunteering in the nursery at Maury Regional Medical Center. Betty was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church where she served on the Ladies Council. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Columbia Women’s Bowling Association. She was also a member of the Newcomer’s Club and often enjoyed playing Bridge.
She is survived by her children: Mary Joy (Robert) Lucas of Casselberry, FL, Rita (Lucien) Coenen of Terramurra, New South Wales, Australia, Rex (ZoAnn) Wolfe of Lynchburg, Sherry (Brian) Reedy of Rochester Hills, MI, Lucinda (Tim) Giblin of Tucson, AZ, Martin Wolfe of Denver, NC, Timothy (Dawn) Wolfe of Conway, SC, Heidi (Ron) Zolkiewicz of Crestwood, KY; sister: Delores Radank of Wisconsin; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Robert C. Wolfe on September 20, 2017; son: Troy Wolfe on September 22, 2015; mother and father in law: Clare and Rose Wolfe; and sisters: LaVerne Hewitt and Rosalyn St. Denis.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
