Bill “BJ” Evans, 56, resident of Columbia passed away Saturday at his residence
Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born August 11, 1964 in Germany, BJ was the son of the late Bill J. Evans and the late
Elisabethe Schneider Evans. He worked as an automotive mechanic at Truckpro in Nashville
before he retired. BJ loved to do leather work, cook and writing short stories. He especially
enjoyed playing the drum with the Salt Creek Sundance Tribe, of which he was a founding
member.
BJ is survived by his loving sisters: Silvana Gleim of Columbia, Christina Miller of Lewisburg,
Cathy Evans-Meltzer (Jeff) of Pulaski, Mona Evans of Michigan and Nieces and nephews:
Michael, Bobby, Shannon, Davey, Maranda, Victoria, Mitchell, Scottie, Kenny, Jeremy and
multiple great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Elisabethe Evans, his brother Fred Evans, nieces
Kristal and Amy Evans and brother-in-law Larry Miller.
The family would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation to Willowbrook Hospice of Franklin,
TN especially Bre, Angie, Hannah and Perry for the excellent care they provided to BJ and our
family during this time. The family would also like to say a very special thank you to BJ’s dear
friend Alli Stone for singing to BJ as he left this world.
Per BJ’s wishes there will not be a service.
