Mr. Billy Wayne Hinton, age 76, husband of Linda Hinton, and a resident of Mt. Pleasant, went to meet his maker on Friday, August 5, 2022, at his home, after a long battle with diabetes.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Tim Paul officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Giles County with military honors provided by the United States Army. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on February 9, 1946, in Nashville, Billy was the son of the late William Hinton and the late Hattie Lucille Hays Hinton. He served in the United States Army from 1965-1968. He married Linda on November 4, 1989; they have five children. He was a grocery store worker for many years, including locally at HG Hills for thirteen years and later worked as a security guard. He often enjoyed fishing. Billy had a special love for his beloved dog and loving companion, Blondie.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kathy (Andy) Miller of Lynn, IN, Ronnie (Susie) Wix of Unionville, TN, Kimberly Hinton of Spokane, WA, Helen (Lonnie) Thomason of Nashville, TN, Susan (Rick) Peterson of Lincoln, IL, brother, George Jones, sister, Barbara Meinecke, eighteen grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Woodson and Charles Jones.
Billy’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
