Billy Joe Thompson of Columbia, Tennessee

Mr. Billy Joe Thompson, age 74, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at his residence.

The family has chosen to postpone the services for Mr. Thompson at this time. Updated information will be publicized when the service date has been determined. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Billy was born on October 23, 1949, in Maury County, Tennessee and was the son of the late Jim Thompson and the late Josephine Shaw Thompson. He loved to work and always kept busy working multiple jobs at a time. He worked many years for the City of Columbia, Silver Screen Video, The Jeweler’s Bench, Tennessee Valley Meats, and Maury County Public Schools. He loved old cars and enjoyed dancing. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children, Shatounga (Bryant) Patterson, Treavangula Nicholson, Kerry Thompson, Felicia (Christopher Young) Thompson, Cathy (Anthony) Pryor, brother, Jim Thompsons, Jr., sister, Bobbie Thompson, eighteen grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son in law, Gary Nicholson, grandchildren, Ke’Lando Starnes, DeMarcus Thompson, and brothers, Calvin Thompson and James Thompson.
